The Return of the Kite Bag series...

... on my BDay week-end, I am in Normandy for a little break. Storm and thunderstorm today, so no chance to fly a kite. So, the bag pictures are back!

fs.com Party @ Le Touquet

I did the road to Le Touquet (from Paris, I am in France home this week-end) today to checkout the event - even if my favourite Genetrix was not there! I could not find any Genetrix kite in the sky by the way, should make Fredstem and myself proud to be quite unique in France too...

You'll find a few pictures below. It was a bit of a mess - quite french organization Wink. By 3pm when I got there, it was high tide, the beach was packed with kites. People launching and landing everywhere in a completely non orchestrated 'ballet'. Some sort of comments from the 'judges corner' were barely audible out of kiddy loudspeakers, about riders doing tricks in the middle of other kiters behaving randomly... very hard to follow. On the beach, a bunch of youngsters were sending their kites back and forth to impress girls... flying arround, I am amazed their was no accident. A couple of collision (not too bad actually) occured on the water. Last data, the wind: I would guess 15 mph, gusty, not very exiting - especially compared to Waddell last week-end! But a nice sunshine.

Anyway, was fun to see so many kites... and I could practice my kite landing assistant skills a little bit - land at least one kite every day if you cannot fly (yet) by yourself!

Shooting session!

Back in the Bay Area, I did some photo shoot for my friend Fredstem. 3122 images - I guess it helps having a Nikon 2H (pro body) that can shoot up to 8 images per second. I did rent lenses... 80-400/4-5.6 zoom and 300/2.8 with 1.4x converter... not too bad, but I learn I need longer for close-up. Fred will for sure post stuff... stay tuned, and we will go 600 next time!

I did had fun and learn some more about kite shooting.

Aside from this, I did more kite training with my Ozone Access 4m2... starting to fly the kite without looking at it! I am getting ready for body drag... and I bought a wet suit!

Finaly, I did a few shots to highlight Genetrix... see the Hydra 2 on the San Mateo bridge! Genetrix guys, I'll be at Le Touquet next week-end in France... wanna buy me a beer :) ?
