Missing left and right……..or East and West

Although the surroundings were spectacular, le whitecaps at Donner Lake were pretty cold.

Politically correct. Part Deux: ‘Washing your dirty laundry in public’

No, it was not another episode of mudslinging in the parking lot, but instead using early departed parking spots (3!!) to dry a freshly cleaned up kite. (sorry no pictures)

West wind, low tide, wind shadow…..you name it, all ingredients were there for doing laundry: crashed kite and mud bath. I deflated the kite in the shallow water and folded it. At least one side got clean. Hopefully today we’ll do a spin dry cycle.

Are you thinking kite loop?

Are you crazy!

There goes the mudslinging!

So you all want me to rig my 16 again !!!!!

I will take donations in green bottle, twist off, real cork, plastic ones..... and Advil

I manage to keep the kite dry and possibly the board as well.

On this shot, on the right, I am been pulled upward. Pretty much the whole ride down.

Switching to windsurfing 5.0 was great. I should have been on 4.5 to enjoy the big swells

April in September

Friday I was very fortunate to notice abnormaly early high wind at SFO. This put me in alert mode and I immediately looked at the satellite like my mentor taught me. The day before I had notice the arrows being squeezed by circles (no I was not watching ‘The last of the Mohicans’) on the pressure map, so that told me we had good conditions to come. The ebb was just started, so I called a few friends and went for an early bird session. My 4.5 on 73L was loaded but not OP. Very westerly though and gusty. After a short drop, It looked like it came back enough later to compensate the flood for the late raisers……you know who you are ;-)

Let’s hope for early wind again today.
